One Year Among the Stars

One year ago, we began this journey with a ship, a newly reactivated fleet, and a collection of ideas about the stories we wanted to tell together.

Since then, the USS Arawyn and Epsilon Fleet have grown into something far larger than any single mission or character. We have explored new worlds, negotiated fragile accords, survived temporal displacement, confronted buried histories, celebrated beneath the lights of the Starfall Carnival, and occasionally created problems that Starfleet regulations were never designed to address.

More importantly, we have built a shared universe filled with people who now feel as though they have always belonged there.

Our First Year by the Numbers

Across the USS Arawyn and Epsilon Fleet, our Nova sites currently record:

591 mission posts
21 personal logs
612 total posting entries
855,019 words written
11 completed missions and major story arcs
63 YouTube video summaries

The USS Arawyn alone has produced 618,987 words across 483 posting entries, while Epsilon Fleet has added another 236,032 words across 129 entries.

That is more than 855,000 words of collaborative storytelling in a single year.

Behind those numbers are dozens of characters, shared plots, personal stories, unexpected turns, and ideas that began with someone asking, “What if?”

More Than Statistics

The numbers are impressive, but they only tell part of the story.

They do not capture the conversations behind the scenes, the characters who took unexpected turns, the joint posts that grew far beyond their original plans, or the moments when another writer introduced an idea that changed the direction of an entire plot.

They do not show the time spent reading one another’s work, building on established details, creating images, developing the wiki, recording summaries, maintaining the sites, or making room for someone else’s character to have an important moment.

Every person who has contributed has helped shape what the Arawyn and Epsilon Fleet have become.

Thank you to everyone who has written a post, created a character, adopted an NPC, proposed a subplot, provided feedback, helped resolve a continuity question, or simply encouraged another writer to keep going.

Thank you for trusting one another with your characters and your ideas.

Thank you for the humour, the tension, the mysteries, the diplomatic disasters, the personal moments, and the wonderfully complicated situations we have created together.

Thank you especially for your patience when a plot became more ambitious than expected, when real life slowed the posting schedule, or when a “quick joint post” became several thousand words and required its own planning document.

Looking Ahead

Over the past year, the Arawyn has crossed from one major story into the next, while Epsilon Fleet has expanded the universe around her through command-level plots, independent operations, and shared events.

Now, Time After Time is reaching its conclusion. The Doldrums gives the Arawyn room to breathe, explore, and develop the lives of her crew between crises. At Starbase 369, Second Light continues the work of rebuilding Epsilon Fleet, while The Heir of a Buried World begins to uncover a history that powerful people would prefer remained forgotten.

There are still worlds to chart, mysteries to investigate, relationships to develop, and consequences from earlier stories waiting to return.

After one year, we are not running out of stories.

We are only beginning to understand how many stories this universe can hold.

Happy first anniversary to the USS Arawyn and Epsilon Fleet.

Thank you for making the journey with us.
