Personality & Traits
| Personal History | Deirdre Brevor grew up seven years behind her sister Treon on the agricultural colony of Tullamore. Where Treon dreamed of starships and distant horizons, Deirdre’s world was rooted in home, family, and the stubborn belief that some things were worth fighting for. That belief hardened when the Romulan Star Empire seized Tullamore during the Starfleet–Romulan War. Still young but fiercely loyal to her world, Deirdre joined the resistance that struggled to slow the occupation. Over the years the Empire reshaped Tullamore through “re-education,” and the community around her changed beyond recognition. Friends accepted the new order. Neighbors vanished. Even her own family fractured under the strain. Deirdre held on longer than most—until the Romulan supernova reshaped the political landscape once again. As collapsing authority, desperate evacuations, and internal crackdowns swept through formerly stable territories, the resistance she supported unraveled. The Empire’s priority shifted to protecting its core worlds, leaving border colonies like Tullamore exposed, unstable, and dangerous. Deirdre had no choice but to flee. She escaped into Federation space with a handful of survivors, leaving behind the world she had spent half her life trying to defend. Refugee life was harsh and disorienting, but it brought something unexpected: Vaelen, a human with Romulan heritage whose family had endured their own fractures during the crisis. Their shared history of loss—and their refusal to be defined by it—drew them together. Marriage followed, then three children. When Treon chose the newly built Starbase 369 as the homeport for her freighter, Deirdre followed her older sister—this time as a partner. The station was still incomplete, its regulations loose, its purpose not yet ossified. That made it the perfect place for a new beginning. Together, the sisters built a small freight operation—respectable enough to earn contracts, flexible enough to quietly deliver aid to the forgotten border worlds. The Arlen family owns a civilian transport vessel, the Wayfarer’s Promise. Deirdre traveled to Starbase 369 ahead of them to help Treon establish their new freight venture, but with the station still under construction, the younger children remained aboard the Promise with their father, Vaelen. The ship will ultimately make SB 369 its homeport. |
